A possible new Uncharted game accidentally revealed

If the Australian Classifications Board is to be believed a new Uncharted game called Fight For Fortune should be coming soon. It looks like the game is going to be released for PS Vita. Although some people are sceptical (including me) it is looking more and more likely that the rumor could become true very soon.

The game is going to be developed by One Loop Games and the game is going to be rated G (for general use). On the Classifications Board website, the game is still officially unannounced. It also looks like that Fight For Fortune will be a multi platform game and it looks like it is intended for Playstation Network and Playstation Vita.

Now the question is, will the game be worth it and will it take off and more importantly will the game actually be released?!

Check back for more information on this story, also look out for Episode 4 of Gary's Gamer Podcast which will be recorded and available for download and listening on Monday 11th November!

Assassins Creed 3 sells 3.5 million copies within first week

According to publisher of Assassins Creed Ubisoft, the latest game in the critically acclaimed franchise (Assassins Creed 3)  managed to shift approximately 3.5 million copies within its first week of availability. CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot said "First-week sell-through sales for Assassin's Creed 3 are estimated at over 3.5 million units, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 100 per cent." in an interview with Computer and Video games this afternoon.

Considering the amount of bad reviews it got for Playstation 3, I can't say that I am not surprised at the games success. The bad review may be because some unknown technical fault with the Playstation 3 version but I have not heard of any difficulties when it comes to Assassins so it could be simply because that the people that review the game simply just didn't like it.

I haven't played it personally so I cannot give you my opinion on the game as of yet but considering how many copies of the game were sold, I am sure that it is going to receive a 10/10 when I review it if I get a chance!

Now all we have to do is find out if the Assassins is going to stay on the shelves of the approximately 3.5 million games bought them.

Are Bethesda going to release long awaited Skyrim DLC at last?

Yesterday, producers of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced posted a mysterious image (heres the link) on their official Twitter account and below it said "Full trailer 11/5" the Bethesda Studios project that has been officially announced is Skyrim. Could this announcement be related to some new downloadable content?
After many complaints about the way Skyrim works (or doesn't) and many questions being asked about where the promised DLC is, could this be the moment that Bethesda pull their socks up and improve Skyrim? after the release of their latest game Dishonored and the release of Elder Scrolls online in 2013, it looks to me as though Bethesda have said "Right, if this game (Skyrim) is going to be a success from now on, we need to fix it!"
IGN.com reached out to Bethesda about the picture but a spokesperson declined to comment. Also, at the moment it looks as though the DLC will only be coming to PC, which is a bit of a kick in the teeth to console users, especially PS3 users because of the problems with the PS3 version of Skyrim.
I personally won't be getting the dlc for Skyrim if it comes out on PS3 because I have had enough of the glitches, slow loading times and patches that don't work. I am even considering selling it on Ebay or some other site like that and using the money towards something for the podcast.
Check back here on Tuesday to get a link to the trailer. I may also do a podcast episode tomorrow because of the amount of news that has come out recently and because I will be in a really good mood because tomorrow instead of spending the whole day in school, I am going on a trip for GCSE Music trip!
Check back tomorrow for more info
Peace out and happy gaming guys

GTA 5 given Spring 2013 release date

Rockstar have officially announced that their new game Grand Theft Auto 5 is going to be released in the Spring of 2013. After much speculation  leaks and rumors, we finally have a date to add to our gaming diaries.

Rockstar had this to say about the release “We are proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto 5 is expected to be released worldwide in Spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.”

Developed by original creators Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest thriving game world Rockstar have ever created, set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond!

Also, it looks like we also have a set pre-order begin date which proves that the guy that was mentioned on the podcast yesterday was indeed lying for publicity. The game will be available for pre-order from November 5th.

So finally we have a date for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto V! I will keep you updated via the podcast, the twitter account (@garysgamerpod) and this website of course!

Peace out and happy gaming guys

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 review

Summary

Modern Warfare 2 is the second game in the Modern Warfare franchise. The game is suitable for people of 18 years and over.

Presentation

As with most Call Of Duty games, the presentation in Modern Warfare 2 is stunning! Infinity Ward have really tried to capture the realism of the battlefield. The friendly and enemy AI are noticeably more intelligent and the enemy is certainly a lot more challenging in this game than Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Storyline

Modern Warfare 2 starts five years after it predecessor. You play as two main characters, they are Private Allen who is in the US Marine Corps and Sergeant Gary 'Roach' Sanderson who is part of an elite group of soldiers called Task Force 141, this group is headed up by General Sheppard.

During the games early release, there was some controversy surrounding one of the missions called 'No Russian'. In this level you play as Private Allen when he has joined Task force 141 and you are undercover as part of a russian terrorist group and the mission involves you going into an airport and shooting at unarmed civilians. The objective of this mission is to try and catch the leader Makarov.

Gameplay

One complaint I have always had with this particular game is the fact that the single player campaign is too short, it only took me around half a day to complete which left me a bit bored and disappointed because I expected so much more. The reason the single player missions may be short might be because of the Special Ops mode. This mode can be played alone or with a friend and most of the missions are inspired by the single player campaign. These missions are quite good but can be a bit difficult if you are playing the missions solo.

The multiplayer is much improved from the previous game in the series and the graphics and overall presentation is better. Also, Infinity Ward have added something called death streaks which is a bit like kill streaks but for the newbies to the online gaming world. One of my favourite death streaks is copycat which allows you to copy the class of the person that killed you last. The kill streaks have also been improved to have a predator drone available which allows you to take out multiple targets and of course destroy an attack helicopter. Infinity Ward have also added something call care packages which are dropped from a helicopter and have either some ammunition refills or a tactical aid. There is very rarely any lag during online play but there are sometimes hackers that take advantage of any loopholes that Infinity Ward didn't notice but thankfully they have managed to sort out most of them by now.

Music

There is very little music in this game but the music that is included is really good! I feel that it adds something to the game by making it more atmospheric and sometimes makes you feel certain emotions that you wouldn't normally feel whilst playing a shooter/action game.

Final Verdict

Modern Warfare 2 is a really amazing game but I feel that it has sort of taken a step back from Modern Warfare rather than a step forward. Many people think that Call Of Duty 4 is one of the best games in the series and I have to agree with them. I think this game deserves a rating of 7/10

As you can see from the post title, there will be another review coming your way soon. I am still choosing which game I should review out of Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2 and UFC Undisputed 3. WWE 12 review

Seeing as the long awaited wwe 13 is now out I thought I might as well do a review for its predecessor, WWE 12. WWE 12 is one of the newest games in the formally named Smackdown Vs Raw series. Developer THQ dropped the name Smackdown Vs Raw because wwe got rid of its Bragging Rights pay per view which is what inspired the original idea for Smackdown Vs Raw.

Gameplay
The overall gameplay of wwe 12 handles well but THQ have made some sloppy mistakes along the way. For example, sometimes when you go to run at your opponent and hit them most of the time you just harmlessly knock into them and nothing happens. Also, yet again when you go to hit your opponent, you miss and just hit thin air when they are right in front of you, which can be a little annoying and times and makes the game look unrealistic and of poor standard. However, I must say that the improved cutscenes during the wwe universe mode makes the game feel more real and sometimes makes you feel as if you are actually in the game. Also, the fact that people get injured more often makes the game yet again feel more realistic although I think that the said wrestler should be out for more than one week, just to add effect.

New Features (or lack thereof)
During the build up to wwe 12, THQ promised some new features for the game, I found that there really isn't any new features at all, they just seem to have added some more characters and added more cutscenes to the wwe universe mode, as stated above. Also, the thing that annoys me the most is that there is no longer a training arena. The disappearance of this feature completely took me off guard when I first fired up the game. I feel that the arena was a key part of the Smackdown Vs Raw games because you could try out some new moves that you created for your character before using them in a match and if you had a friend coming round who had never played the game before, the training arena was a great place to show him/her the controls and give them a chance to fight you without you fighting back and risk losing.

Also, the new road to wrestlemania storylines in this game were a little bit confusing and took up most of my time when playing through the game, I didn't really like the idea of all the separate storylines being crammed into one! I much preferred the style that was used in the Smackdown vs Raw games where you had separate areas within the road to wrestlemania mode for each wrestler which made the storylines easier to play through. Secondly, the create a story mode is very boring as it has always been and they could have at least made an effort and added the wrestler's voices in rather than keep on using the stupid text boxes because it just takes the atmosphere away from the game.

Graphics
There isn't really that many changes to the graphics from Smackdown vs Raw 2011 to wwe 12 but they have improved the likenesses of the characters and as always the creation of the TNA wrestlers and Ring of Honor wrestlers are outstanding but I can't really credit THQ for that as they are community creations, maybe they should get some community creators to help with the development process!

Final verdict
Finally, I think we can see from what I've written and from playing the game itself that THQ needed to do a lot more than just drop the SVR name. I give this game 4/10

I AM BACK!
