Call of duty Black ops: Should it be an 18?

There have recentley been lots of complaints given to ESRB which is a company that rates games about the rating of 18 they have given to new call of duty game black ops. The reason that this has been criticized is because like modern warfare 2 you can turn off the blood, bad language and you don't have to play any gory levels if you don't want to and this won't make any difference to the storyline.

So, should call of duty black ops be an 18 or should treayach realease a 15 version for those people that are not allowed 18 rated games. if you have any opinions email me on gary.cunningham190@googlemail.com

cod black ops launch event GAME article

Call of Duty enthusiasts have descended on GAME stores across the country to be among the first to snap up Call of Duty: Black Ops, the latest title in the blockbuster series.

Activision and Treyarch's hotly-anticipated new Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS and PC shooter has finally been released, with GAME's Oxford Street store hosting its official UK retail launch.

More than 300 fans queued up outside the London outlet ahead of the midnight release, with three dedicated fanatics camping out for more than 30 hours, reports MCV.

GAME's head of PR Neil Ashurst said: "Customers were buzzing, the game looks amazing and there could be a lot of people calling in sick after staying up all night."

Call of Duty: Black Ops relocates the series' famous shooter action to the Cold War era and has been tipped to be one of the bestselling games of the year.

It is also the first in the series to offer support for stereoscopic 3D visuals for those with compatible TV sets.

Call of Duty : Black ops launch night

Call of duty Black Ops came out on Tuesday and has already sold lots of copys! Loads of people have played it and are mainly focused on the Online Multiplayer more than the single player campaingn because according to my friends they are more focused on getting a good prestige level because that is what makes them stand out in the playstation and xbox community.

As for the Launch night at all Game stores around England, it was massive and every GAME store was packed. That was hardly suprising because this is supposed to be the best game of the year according the the votes at the Golden Joysticks Awards 2010.

James bond quantum of solace reveiw

James Bond quantum of solace review

James Bond quantum of solace is a really good game, it has the right level of action and has a very good storyline but some of the levels are kind of hard.

Gameplay (single player)

The Gameplay in quantum of solace is amazing it has lots of action but it doesn’t have enough to make you get bored of the game because it also has some suspense in the last few levels of the game and the best thing about this game is that even on the first level as soon as the cut scene ends you find yourself shooting your way through Mr. White’s thugs at his home. To be honest if activision do decide to come out with another game which has been rumoured then I would love to see them top what they have done with quantum of solace in the single player campaign!

Gameplay (online multiplayer)

To be honest, I don’t think that the multiplayer lived up to the standard of the single player. The reason I say this is because after playing loads of multiplayer I didn’t find it as exciting as playing call of duty multiplayer because in the James Bond online you don’t really get a lot out of winning matches or getting so many kills whereas in call of duty you can get to different levels, unlock perks and there is a much wider range of attachments and weapons than there is in quantum of solace. However, if they do bring out this new game and improve the multiplayer then I will happily stand corrected.

Weaponry

Again, the weaponry selections are very small compared to call of duty and seeing as activision “helped” infinity ward with call of duty I am very surprised that they have very little weapons in the game! But, the weapons they have chosen are very powerful weapons for Bond and I like the fact than unlike call of duty they have not put all of their work into deciding what weapons to use because they have added takedowns into quantum of solace as well which are very useful when you don’t want to be seen.

Graphics

In this game the graphics are astonishing! Like I said in the Half blood prince review the characters look really life-like especially the main character James Bond. I think that activision are one of the best developers when It comes to games because they pay attention to every last detail!

Final opinion

In conclusion, I think this game is the best James bond game ever made! My rating is 10/10!

Harry potter and the half blood prince review

Harry potter and the half blood prince is the sixth Harry Potter game and is probably the best one that I have played so far, the reason I say this is because I have not yet played the deathly hallows part one.

Gameplay

The gameplay improves with every game but in this game it is as fluent as ever. Also, the storyline is really interesting and it definitely kept me playing until the very end unlike order of the phoenix. However, when you complete the half blood prince you end up back in Hogwarts and there is no other missions to complete all you can do is collect Hogwarts crests and duel at the duelling club, even though collecting crests can get you achievements and trophies it does get kind of boring after doing it for a long time and it can sometimes be frustrating when you can’t reach a certain crest because it is too high.

Missions

As I said in the last paragraph the missions are very enjoyable and kept me going until the end but some of the missions are completely random for example when you have to go and make a potion for Ginny and when you end up fighting one of Malfoy’s henchmen whilst on your way to quidditch practice with Katie Bell. That is the only downside to this game which is much better than harry potter five because there was loads of downsides to that.

Harry potter playing quidditch

Achievements and trophies

The achievements and trophies in this game are not very story focused, most of them are to do with the Hogwarts crests and the badges that you can get such as the duelling club beginner badge and the potion master badge so I was not as focused on getting the trophies in this game as I am in the other games I play.

Graphics

The graphics in this game are amazing and if I had to rate this game of graphics alone then I would give it 10/10. The characters are so life like and it is obvious that the developers payed close attention to the details in the film concerning the characters facial and body features for example the black mark on Dumbledore’s finger from the horchrux ring is exactly like it is in the film Harry’s scar is also exact!

Final opinion

In conclusion, I would rate this game 8/10 because it is an excellent game and it has very little faults.

New halo reach Noble DLC map pack

As mentioned in episode six of my podcast there is a new halo reach DLC called Nobel it is a map pack and it includes 3 new maps. Here is the report from www.game.co.uk

“The Halo: Reach multiplayer experience is about to get bigger thanks to the forthcoming launch of a new downloadable content package.
Developer Bungie has created the Noble Map Pack, which will be available for Xbox 360 owners at the end of next month and offers up three new deathmatch arenas for the blockbuster shooter.
Gamers who download the pack will be able to duke it out on Tempest - a tactical map featuring two symmetrical bases - as well as Anchor 9, an outer-space repair vessel characterised by tight corridors, large hangars and low-gravity areas.
Meanwhile, the third map Breakpoint sees players do battle in an abandoned ice-covered laboratory.
The news will be welcomed by the many UK gamers who helped Halo: Reach to record the fifth-biggest launch week of all time when it made its debut last month.
It is an epic prequel to the Halo saga and tells the heroic story of Noble Team, a group of Spartan super-soldiers defending the planet Reach from the alien fanatics of the Covenant.”

Hopefully I will  be able to get more news on this soon.

Rockstar to ban red dead redemption cheats?

Hi and welcome to another addition of Gary’s gamer blog.

I just heard that Rockstar are thinking of releasing an update for Red Dead redemption that will definitely ban cheats being used to complete the game because rockstar say they consider this cheating and not trying to get the full experience out of their game! There is no release date yet but I think it will come out some point this year there will be more news on this in the next episode of the podcast and I will do my best to try and snap up an interview about this.

Gary’s Gamer Podcast and other stuff

Hi and welcome to another addition of Gary’s Gamer Blog! This week I will be talking about my new podcast that is on ITunes called Gary’s Gamer Podcast. This podcast is obviously about games but the only difference is that I have my friend Jake Ayton helping me because he gives the listeners an insight into the Xbox 360 side of things because unfortunately he doesn’t play playstation 3 but he is good at finding out about new E3 games that have come out for Xbox 360 and he is a comedy king because he always comes up with jokes in the middle of the podcast and it gets the listeners laughing which is always good for five star reviews!

Also, there is a big hype in the Xbox industry about crackdown 2 which is coming out within this year and Jake is very excited about it because he has got crackdown one and the demo for crackdown two.

See You Next Week!

LEGO Harry potter reveiw - Part two

Hi Guys, here is the second part of my LEGO harry potter reveiw!

After playing the demo I think it is a very good LEGO game but the only downside to it is that it is way too expensive even though it is new they shouldn't sell it for £49.99 because that way noboddy is going to buy it and then EA won't get any profit from the game. Also, the demo should have been the first part of the game at private drive not halfway through the game in charms class! As said on the podcast they need to sort it out because like I said otherwise noboddy will buy it! Anyway, heres and interveiw as promised!

Lego Harry Potter review Part One

Hi Guys and welcome to another addition of Gary’s Gamer Blog! This week I am reviewing LEGO Harry Potter.

At the start of the game you obviously start at Harrys uncles house in private drive, at this point you have no magical powers so when someone comes to collect Harry you have to switch to the person who has collected you from private drive to build the exit to a certain place in Diagon Alley.

In my opinion, I think that the game itself is like any other LEGO game except that the storyline looked a lot more fun to play than Indiana Jones 2 and Lego star wars the complete saga. Also I liked the realism of the way the spell looked when it was cast for example if you cast lumos into your companions eyes they are blinded for a while and they are very hard to play as in the level. Secondly, I liked the strategy side of the game because in one part of the game you have to work out a way to set free somebody and if don’t do it right then you have to start again.

That’s all for the first part of this review next week there will be some game play videos and screenshots available and possibly

an interview!

E3 2010 – part two and Playstation Plus

Hi guys and welcome to the second part of the E3 addition to Gary’s Gamer Blog.

More Games

Another game I was really surprised about was LEGO Harry Potter years 1-4. The reason I’m surprised about this game is because it looks like it will become a very successful game when it is released but what they should of done was make each year separate because now when it comes to making a second game the only years they have to go on are five and six or maybe seven depending on when they release the second game.

Playstation Plus

Playstation plus is the name of the premium service for playstation 3. according to the playstation official website it  will cost £49.99 for a whole year and £14.99 for 90 days in my opinion this is far too expensive considering that Xbox live is only £5.00 for a month! hopefully they lower the prices when it has been out longer.

That’s all for this week folks! if there are any comments email me on Gary.cunningham190@googlemail.com

E3 2010 - part one

Hi guys and welcome to another edition of gary's gamer bloog. today I am going to talk about E3 2010!

Games
One of the games I personally liked was Assasins Creed Brotherhood which is the third game in the Assasins creed franchise. this game is about Ezio auditore de firenzie going to rome and forming a brotherhood which is a group of assasins and conquering rome, one of the best parts of the game is probably the ability to play online and personally I can't wait for it to come out in novemeber this year! also, there was need for speed which is an excellent game because now it isn't tracks it is free roaming and you also get to be the police as well as the racers!

check back for more E3 news next week

PSN premium rumors

Hi Guys,

There has been a rumor that there will be a playstation network premium service. This service will have to be paid for but if you don't want to pay there will still be the free one avalible but if you don't pay then you may miss out on loads of cool new stuff like cross game chat, social networking on your ps3 and loads of cool new themes avalible. Apparentley it is $10 a month which is £7 in UK currency so it isn't really that expensive and in my opinion it is worth paying for.

Check back soon for more updates on this
